Chris Burniske says stock rebound may be a dead-cat bounce, with crypto likely to bottom first
Placeholder partner Chris Burniske said in a post on X that, while he does not consider himself a stock expert, he believes “the spell has been broken” and views the recent sharp rebound as a dead-cat bounce. He added that he expects cryptocurrencies to take the hit earlier than equities, but also to bottom earlier than the stock market. Foresight News noted that a dead-cat bounce refers to a short-lived and often sharp rebound during a broader downtrend, such as a bear market or a major correction. In that setup, prices may jump suddenly, but the move lacks fundamental support and sustained buying interest. The rebound can then fade quickly, with prices falling again and in some cases setting new lows. The remarks were attributed to Burniske’s X post cited by Foresight.
